Celades: "There is no anxiety, rather a desire to win"
Speaking less than 24 hours before the LaLiga Matchday 7 game against Athletic Club, Albert Celades previewed the visit to the Basque Country.
Looking for a first win at San Mamés
"I'd like a repeat of our game at Stamford Bridge (where they won against Chelsea away for the first time). Especially the end result. It's a tough ground and Athletic have gone many games without losing at home. We are going to be up against a strong side, who are playing in front of their home fans, and we have the example in the recent past of a similar situation."
Anxiety
"There is no anxiety amongst the squad, but there is a desire to win. We want to win, without a doubt."
The importance of concentration
"Of course, we are insisting that those situations at the start of the game don't happen, but the complex nature of the game means that unexpected things occur. It's something that has happened to us, but also something that we have to adjust and improve."
The penalty not given against Getafe
"Looking at the footage, it's something that everybody has seen by now. I don't need to comment on it. Sometimes it isn't easy to understand things with the technology in place, but I believe that they will review the incident. Everybody knows what happened and we need to move on from it. Now we have to focus on what we can control. VAR has come in to make everything fairer, and I hope that it works better next time."
"It doesn't generate distrust. There's been a lot of talk about the situation, but we are focused on tomorrow's game. We'd likely have two more points if the penalty had been called, but we can't go back to it now and we have to think about how to face the game in the best way possible. I defend the implementation of VAR and it's come in to help us."
